Entrants grant RBS the unrestricted right (without royalty) to reproduce images of submitted artworks in any publication in connection with the Sculpture Shock be it online printed or otherwise disseminated.

The jury’s decision is final. If RBS is unable to contact any short listed artist or winners via the email address supplied by the entrant, the short-list position / prize lapses and RBS reserves the right to select alternative winners.

Short listed artists will be contacted directly. The names of the winners and short listed artists will be published on Facebook, Twitter, RBS website and elsewhere in award publicity.

It is in the discretion of RBS whether to accept any works for exhibition created during the residency.

The RBS will be responsible for the insurance of artworks on exhibition and undertakes to arrange and pay for reasonable transportation/insurance costs of the finished work from the studio to the pop-up location. RBKC covers the building insurance for the studio but the artists will need to have their own public liability and contents insurance.

Title to the finished work remains with the artist and it will be the artist’s responsibility to dismantle and store it. In the event that the work sells, RBS is entitled to a commission of [15%] on the achieved sale price of the work. The venues hosting the pop-up exhibitions may choose to retain the work for a longer period subject to separate negotiation with the artist and RBS. During the residency, the artists will be expected to actively take part in the social media marketing campaign through regular contributions to the blog, twitter etc and by supplying content for interviews, video and audio pieces.

The short listed artists and the winners are expected to sign agreements governing the conditions applicable to the short list exhibition and residence respectively and RBS reserves the right to remove the artist from the short list or withdraw the winner’s prize if the relevant agreement is not signed.

In all matters arising in connection with the award, RBS’s decision shall be final.

No cash alternative is available.

The entrant will be liable for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage suffered by RBS arising from the artist’s breach of this agreement.

RBS reserves the right to cancel this award or alter these rules if it considers that it has good reason to do so.

These rules are governed by English law and any disputes will be decided only by the courts of the United Kingdom.
